Founded by Chris Brownlow, a seasoned food producer and sourdough specialist, and Sara, a practicing GP with a passion for nutrition, our mission is to reconnect people with real food, sustainable practices, and mindful living.

Nestled in the scenic Boyne Valley, just moments from the historic Hill of Tara, our workshops offer more than just baking lessons—they are immersive wellness experiences designed to nourish both body and mind.

From Soil to Sourdough: Our Journey

Chris’s love for food began in his grandmother’s kitchen, where he watched Mrs. Ryan bake cakes with care and precision. That early spark led him from a career in agriculture and food production—managing potato farming for Tayto Crisps—to studying the science of bread-making at renowned institutions like the Dublin Cookery School and The Sourdough School in Northampton.

Through his training, Chris uncovered the powerful connection between bread, gut health, and mental well-being. Today, at Bread with Benefits, he brings that knowledge to life through hands-on sourdough workshops, plant-based cooking experiences, and team-building baking events, all rooted in Ireland’s culinary heritage.
