WHO WE ARE
A former potato grower and agronomist, Chris was responsible for supplying 10% of the national potato crop to Ireland's favourite crisp brand Tayto.
Known as The Doctor and the Gentleman Baker, Chris Brownlow and his wife Sara, a local GP, invite you to their home in the Boyne Valley, near the historic Hill of Tara, for a one-of-a-kind food experience in Ireland’s Ancient East.
Chris, a former food producer, has now embarked on a mission to revive Ireland’s true bread—the nutritious, long-fermented sourdough that predates soda bread. With Sara’s expertise in health and nutrition, you will explore the deep connections between bread, gut health, and well-being.
unforgettable food and heritage
Discover the true taste of Ireland’s Ancient East with an immersive, hands-on baking experience like no other. Under the expert guidance of Chris Brownlow, the Gentleman Baker, you’ll craft your own sourdough bread, using heritage grains that predate soda bread.
